Bokashi super starter Kit includes the following items:
2 x Buckets
- It is necessary to have a minimum of 2 buckets for the bokashi process.
- Fermentation takes two weeks after the bucket is full.
- During this time, you will begin using your second bucket.
- The two buckets will then be in rotation of filling and fermenting.
2 x 1kg bags of Bokashi Bran
- Each bag will treat about 1½ buckets of food waste.
- Sprinkle a scoop of Bokashi Bran over every 7 to 10cm layer of food waste.
1 x Counter Container
- For collecting food waste while preparing meals
Measuring scoop
- 100ml measuring scoop
- for sprinkling Bokashi Bran over the food waste to stop it from rotting.
12-month Warrantee
- 12-month warrantee on the bucket, tap and straining tray.

What can go into the bucket:
- Left-over kitchen food waste
- Cooked and uncooked food
- Fruit and vegetable peels
- Meat, fish or chicken
- Chicken or fish bones
- Cheese
- Egg Shells
- Bread
- Coffee grinds / tea bags
Instruction for use (Bokashi Super Starter Kit):
- Keep a vegetable bowl or our counter container ready while preparing meals.
- Cut all waste into bite sizes
- Don’t leave food waste for more than 4 hours
- Empty food into the Bokashi Bran bucket
- Compact down with a potato masher
- Sprinkle a scoop (100ml) of Bokashi Bran over the waste
- Seal your bucket
- Repeat until the bucket is full
- Tap off the liquid (bokashi tea) in the bottom of the bucket
- Dilute 1:300 with water and feed to the roots of your plants
- Once the bin is full, continue to ferment for 2 weeks out of direct sun
- Cocoon the waste in your compost heap and turn every 4 to 5 weeks
- Waste will be decomposed after 7 weeks.
- Alternatively (if you do not have a compost heap): Dig a trench of 30 cm x 1 m and bury the contents.
- Only plant in this section after two weeks
