Eco Diatomaceous Earth
Diatomaceous Earth is 100 % organic and pet and child friendly. It is a non-toxic way of pest control which will help with ants and spiders you often discover amongst your worms. Treat unwanted insects, fleas, parasites, and fungus gnat larva successfully by sprinkling some at the surface of your worm farm. No pests equate to comfortable worms!
According to the dictionary, Diatomaceous Earth is a soft, crumbly, porous sedimentary deposit formed from the fossil remains of diatoms. When ground, the tiny skeletal pieces are very sharp and produce the effect of many miniature razor blades on the respiratory systems of any smaller insect or bug that inhales it. It also causes drying of the mucous membranes of breathing holes and lungs in bugs.
Sprinkle DE in your garden to control and kill snails and slugs. Adding a thin layer of DE where you notice arts entering your home will deter them too. Keep in mind that DE is non-selective and could also kill beneficial insects. Use with caution.
